How to create and restore system restore point? What is Restore Point?
Restore point is Microsoft Windows XP’s current state of current working condition. In case you have some problem in your windows like some malware or virus attacked on your Windows and changed few settings. You can recall previous day or previous week settings in your Windows.
Create Restore Point?
Creating a restore point is too much easy. Open System Restore utility. There are 2 methods to load System Restore utility.
- Start menu => All Programs => Accessories => System tools and click on System restore.
- Open Run Command and type “%SystemRoot%System32estorestrui.exe” without quotes and press enter.
Select “Create a restore point” and click on Next.
Type Restore point description for future use and Click on Create. (Note: This name can’t be change later so be careful at typing its name).
Restore early created Restore Point
To restore your Windows XP to early created restore point it is better that you must restart your Windows and load Microsoft Windows XP in “Safe Mode”. To load Windows in “Safe Mode” Restart your Windows and press F8 at booting time. A boot menu will appear. You can see “Safe Mode”. Select “Safe Mode” and Press Enter. Your Microsoft Windows XP will load in “Safe Mode”. “Safe Mode” doesn’t load all services of Windows so it is better to restore your Windows in this mode. When your Windows will start in this mode. You can see a message box asking that you want to restore your windows in early state. Select Yes and restore your windows in early created restore point by selecting a date of its description. After this process your Windows will restart.
Note: When you will restore your windows in early created restore point then your files, emails or document will not disturb from your document or desktop location. Only Windows settings will effect.
