Nowadays Microsoft Word is commonly known as one of the components that are available in the package of Microsoft Office suite but this product can also be bought as a standalone product from its creator and inventor Microsoft. This product is also included in the list of those software or applications that are included in the famous Microsoft Works Suite.
The brand name of Microsoft Word was changed by its introducer Microsoft just with an intention to make prominent the identity of this application when the version of Microsoft Office Suit was released in year 2003 which is actually known as PC version and new name which was given to this application was Microsoft Office Word. But it looks like the name of this application in the latest version of Microsoft Office, which has been released in the current year i.e. 2010, has been reverted to Microsoft Word.
