Secondary memory is widely recognized being a type of computer memory which can not be accessed or you may say which normally is not accessed directly by a Central Processing Unit of any computer machine and therefore is considered as different storage type in relation to primary memory. This in-discussion secondary storage medium or memory is also commonly named as auxiliary storage as well as external storage.

Usually channels that are called as input/output channels in computer hardware language, are used by the computers just in intention to access or gain control over secondary storage. Therefore these channels work being primary platform to transfer data (required or desired data rather) on these secondary or external storage areas using intermediate area located in the major or primary storage.

The data stored in secondary storage or external storage is normally not lost by these storage devices especially if the powered is down to these storage device and it is only because these memories (external or you may say auxiliary storage) fall under non-volatile memory. Typically magnitude’s two orders are found less in external storage as compare to primary storage and therefore two orders are typically have more in computers (modern computers) in shape of secondary memory as compare to the primary storage or memory.

This only ability or feature actually allows secondary memory or you may say external memory to store data comparatively for a longer time than primary storage. Hard disk drivers are considered as the most prominent type, form or example of secondary storage that are used very commonly in modern computers.

Whenever content are required to be separated from the presentation in formation or designing of a web page or a website, the files that are used to fulfill this desire of the computer programmers are commonly recognized as style sheets. The Web files (that normally are given the name as markup files) in this kind of web designing structure, contains only the semantic structure as well as content of a page.

But these kinds of Web files do not represent themselves or you may say do not allow their visual layout which is also called as style, to be defined within them. Therefore style sheets are used to make it happen or to give visual layout to markup files in this type of web deigning. These kinds of style files are normally written in style sheet languages in which XSL as well as CSS are more common.

This kind of web designing or you may say approach of web designing is normally given the name as “separation” because the antecedent methodology is largely seen superseded in this design approach. Antecedent methodology in Internet world is recognized as a designing approach which actually allows a markup of any Web page to define structure as well as style in it.

This in-discussion methodology, in which a style sheet is separately created just in intention to give a visual layout to a markup of any Web page, is normally or specifically given the name as separation of concerns. This type of methodology of creating Web designing actually has many benefits but its practical presence in Internet world is the matter of some recent years.

A Web browser is widely recognized or described in Internet or computer world as a software application that is used by a computer user or Internet surfer only in intention of presenting as well as traversing and retrieving resources of different kind of information over World Wide Web. A URI or you may say a Uniform Resource Identifier is used to identify an information resource in this software application.

An information resource may also be recognized or identified in this software application (which is called as a Web browser) through video, image, webpage or any other type of content. The browsers of the users easily navigate with the help of hyperlinks (that are normally seen in resources) to related resources.

Although the main aim of the in-discussion software application i.e. Web browser, is normally considered as World Wide Web’s access over a computer machine but the other notable functions or ability of the browsers are also considered as accessing information that is actually given or provided by file (in any kind of file systems) or by web servers (in any kind of private networks).

Apple Safari as well as Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox and notable or much in-use Windows Internet Explorer are recognized as the most prominent or most famous Web browsers in the list of currently available Web browsers in the world. These kinds of software applications i.e. Web browsers, do not have any part in computer history before 1980s because it was the duration or era in computer world when first Web browser’s foundation was laid down by Tim Berners-Lee.

A focused crawler or you may say a topical crawler is widely recognized as a type of web crawler that actually works in a way that only those web pages are downloaded by this web crawler that it seems more relevant to a set of topics or you may say to a pre-defined topic. It is generally assumed in topical crawling that the topic given is the only task to perform while some labeled examples are also assumed by a focused crawling of relevant as well as non-relevant pages.

Menczer first brought this term i.e. topical crawling to the Internet world. a focused crawler works ideally in a manner that only web pages (those Web pages rather) are downloaded by this type of Web crawler that it seems pretty close or relevant to the searched term or the topic and therefore other irrelevant Web pages are simply avoided by this crawler.

Therefore the probability may be predicted by the crawler called focused crawler in a way that a particular page is irrelevant or relevant and this thing is assumed or predicted by this crawler even before downloading the particular page. Probably the possible prediction method, which is used by this focused crawler, is because of anchor text of different links.

In the other renowned approach, focused crawler normally works in a manner that the page’s relevance is assumed or determined sometimes even after downloading the particular content of a page. Then content indexing store relevant pages and URLs of these relevant pages are sent by crawler to crawl frontier. Pages that do not meet relevance criteria are normally discarded by this crawler.

World Wide Web is normally accessed through a program and this program in computer’s Internet world is given the name as Web crawler. This program browses WWW or you may call World Wide Web in an automated, methodical or orderly fashion manner. Bots, automatic indexers, ants, Web robots, Web spiders or Web cutters (named in FOAF community) are recognized as other notable terms that are used to describe Web crawlers.

The whole process of World Wide Web browsing is normally given the name as Web spidering and sometime as Web crawling. Spidering method is used by many sites in which search engines are most common just in intention to give or provide data (up-to-date data rather) to user. Main feature or function of Web crawlers is considered as creating a copy of the pages (or websites) that are visited by user to load them faster for later processing whenever the same term is searched or processed over the same search engine.

The maintenance tasks can also be automated through Web crawlers on a Web site in which validating HTML code as well as checking links of a Web site are also included. Sometime crawlers may also work in a way of storing or collecting very specific information from the cached pages of Web sites in which e-mail addresses’ harvesting is also included.

A Web crawler can be defined being a kind of bot or sometime can be defined as a software agent in Internet world. The lists of URLs that are normally visited by a user are called as seeds and these seeds are stored by Web crawlers in their memory.

Server-side scripting is commonly recognized being a web server technology which actually works on the basis of a script just to verify the request of a user directly on a formed web server. A script is run by this web server technology for this purpose just to generate or create dynamic web pages. The basic aim behind using this web server technology is normally described to provide an Internet user the interactive websites that actually border or you may say interface to several other data stores including databases.

Server-side scripting is something different with another same-natured term i.e. client-side scripting because viewing web browser normally run the scripts that are used or processed by client-side scripting and these scripts are normally written using JavaScript.

One of the advantages of server-side scripting is considered as the highly customizability of those responses that are based on the requirements of the users as well as of those responses that are related to access rights and / or on the data storing queries. Major different of the in-discussion scripting from client-side scripting is considered as that these kinds of scripts are never displayed or visible to user’s browsers because they do not involve user’s browsers and are run on server side.

When worldwide web was in its earlier or initial days, the in-discussion scripting i.e. server-side scripting was being processed or written exclusively with the help of combination of Perl scripts, C programs as well as shell scripts and this combination was being developed through using CGI or you can call as Common Gateway Interface.

Xerox Network System or you may say XNS is widely recognized as a Xerox development which was made in the category of network protocol. Therefore XNS is widely recognized as a protocol suite which was made available by the Xerox within their notable architecture i.e. Xerox Network Systems Architecture. Network communications (that are known as general purpose communications), packet delivery and internetwork routing are actually provided by XNS.

Xerox Network System or you may say XNS also is recognized as the provider of remote procedure calls as well as of reliable streaming that are commonly recognized as higher level functions. A notable networking model i.e. Open Systems Interconnect or you may say OSI is actually recognized as the influencing part of development of this protocol suite and therefore has been predated in this networking model.

Xerox PARC was the base where this in-discussion protocol suite i.e. Xerox Network System or you may say XNS, was developed back during 1980s and this development of the version was heavily based on this protocol suite’s earlier version which is known as PARC Universal Packet or you may say PUP and was developed during late 1970s. Some protocols of XNS suite, that were also the part of PUP suite, were lightly modified by Xerox.

PARC Universal Packet or you may say PUP was originally developed for the further development or you may say research purposes but the development of XNS suite was done to make a commercial level version. Specifications of this upgraded version i.e. XNS suite, were made available in public domain by the company.

Server Message Block or you may say SMB is widely recognized in computer networking world as CIFS or you may say Common Internet File System. This in-discussion internet file system is widely recognized as operates or works only as a network protocol called application layer protocol of network. Main usage of this application layer protocol of network is commonly described as to provide or give hared access serial ports, printers, files and several different communications that are normally done between network and its nodes.

Common Internet File System, which is also recognized as the other name of Server Message Block or you may say SMB and works being an application layer protocol of network, is also recognized as provider of an authenticated mechanism which is called as inter-process communication in computer networking.

Mostly this in-discussion application layer protocol of computer networking is seen involved in only those computers that work on the platform called Microsoft Windows and therefore are commonly given the name as Microsoft Windows Network in this platform, well before the introduction of the currently in-demand Active Directory was made by Microsoft Corporation.

Originally Server Message Block or you may say SMB was designed just in intention to be run or execute on top of NetBEUI API (also known as NetBIOS API). But since the introduction of Microsoft Windows 2000, the implementation of the in-discussion internet file system has been started on top of TCP where the port 445 is used to listen by the file server instead of using port 139. IBM is the designer of this internet file system.

Network File System or you may say NFS is widely recognized as a protocol whose development process had been done in year 1984 by a popular organization in technology world called Sun Microsystems. This file system protocol actually works to give full support to a user sitting on a client computer to gain control or access of the files that are placed or stored over a network computer.

The user sitting on a client computer is able to gain control or access on the stored files over any other network computer in the similar passion or style as it is accessing or playing with the files on its own machine. A notable system i.e. Open Network Computing Remote Procedure Call or you may say ONC RPC is widely recognized as the system on the back of Network File System or you may say NFS protocol as it is built in this system.

RFCs definition of this in-discussion file system protocol is also there and therefore this network file system is widely recognized as an open standard file system protocol that actually gives rights to every professional (who is able to modify it) to implement this file system protocol as he wishes or desires.

RFC 1094 is the definition where all the details of implementing this in-discussion protocol can be found. Experimental purposes (in-house purposes rather) had been done by the Sun Microsystems by using version 1 of this protocol only. Version 2 details were specified in the above mentioned RFC 1094 standard by Sun Microsystems in year 1989 in March and this v2 is originally operated in computer world over UDP.

Hierarchical File System, which is called HFS being an abbreviation as well, is widely recognized as a development effort of the notable Apple Inc. in the field of file system. Apple Inc. had an intention while making this file system that it would be used only in those current age’s computer machines that would be performing their functions or tasks with support of Mac OS, means Mac OS-based computer systems would be able to use this file system.

Hierarchical File System or you may say HFS was originally designed by above mentioned organization to be used on hard disks as well as on floppy diskettes but some currently notable read-only media including most popular CD-ROMs, are also able to carry or run this file system. Mac OS Standard is the other notable name which is used to describe this file system but erroneously some people also give it name as HFS Standard.

HFS Plus is widely recognized as successor of Hierarchical File System which is also called with Mac OS Extended name in computer world and also is called erroneously by computer programmers as HFS Extended. The format as well as write support was being provided by Apple Inc. to HFS images as well as to HFS disks until the company introduced OS X 10.6.

Hierarchical File System or you may say HFS was introduced in year 1985′s September by Apple Inc. and its release was only supportive to hard disk drive of the Apple Inc. that was available to use on Macintosh machines only. HFS then replaced the already running Macintosh File System or you may say MFS.
