What is Computer Monitor?

Computer monitor is sometimes also referred to as a unit who provides visual display. It is actually known as an electric device which is responsible to provide visual display to a computer user for every process he makes on his personal computer. It normally is divided into three parts i.e. enclosure, circuitry and display device. It is really a compulsory part of computer to have a visual display unit.

Currently we are going through the phase of modern age of computer monitors. These modern monitors typically consist of TFT-LCD (stands for “Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) which is known as a thin panel while CRT (stands for “Cathode Ray Tube “) is being used by the typical old styled fat monitors. They actually have depth in their size exactly same as their size of display screen.

Basic aim of the computer monitor is to make them displaying data which is being processed by the personal computer and make them as entertaining as they like the receivers of television. Currently computer monitors are being used in both sense means for the entertainment purpose (television receiver) and for displaying the data processing.

Computer monitors are seen in three different types in the modern age of this technology:

  1. Analog Monitors.
  2. Analog and Digital Monitors (These are actually the combination of both technologies).
  3. Digital Monitors.

Most of the current age monitors use an option of power saving which is very much effective in terms of saving monthly electricity bill. They went into this mode if video input signal is not received until a certain time period which is set into the display settings.
